Teemu Patala (Master of Int. Busin., Vocational Teacher) is a pioneer of digital learning development and learning economist with nearly 20 years of experience in digital learning. He is also a co-founder of Context Learning – Finland’s leading developer of online learning content solutions and AirportCollege.com which is a provider of cloud-based learning solutions for the aviation sector. Teemu has been working in e-learning development tasks since 1999 focusing on e-learning concept design, technological development, educational research & innovation projects and learning economics. During his career he has been responsible for hundreds of digital learning development projects globally, focusing on topics such as healthcare, safety & security, inclusive education, engineering, management & leadership etc. Mr Patala also holds a Vocational Teacher Certification and from 2013 to 2015 he worked as a Lecturer of Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship at HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Finland.
Teemu’s strongest competencies and areas of interest include applied e-learning design and learning content production. During the recent years he has contributed to a number of academic and professional development initiatives. These include e.g. strategic planning, pre-studies and piloting/testing of new e-learning concepts and technology. Teemu is a Member of the European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN) and a Member of the Finnish Society on Media Education.
